Not only was Galloway Downs a perfect respite from city life (being quiet and peaceful) the cabin was beautifully appointed and had a great ambience. We were frequently visited by the chickens, sheep, goats, cows and Mr Darcy a very well mannered pig. We were greeted with fresh eggs in the fridge! what a treat! The outdoor fire pit was a big hit – but I can never lay claim to being a firestarter. Did I mention the horses? Yes, miniature horses too! Oh and the ducks on the pond. We had everything we needed for a great weekend away. Overall rating 6 out of 5 for comfort and environment and 11 out of 10 for peace and quiet.
