Slow down, Breathe deep & Stay a while

There’s a natural rhythm to Galloway Downs — quiet, steady, and easy to settle into.

Whether you’re here to switch off or explore the Northern Rivers, you’ll find yourself slowing down without really trying.

At your own pace

There’s no schedule here. Do as much or as little as you like — the farm moves around you either way.

Guest Favourites

Sunsets & stargazing

The western skies put on a show each evening, followed by clear stars overhead. Bring a wine or a hot drink and settle in.

Pizzas & Darts at the bales bar

Light the fire, roll the dough, and pour a drink at the bar. An easy, relaxed way to spend the evening.

Camp fire cook ups (Winter)

Toast a marshmallow, try your hand at damper, or sit by the fire. Let the evening slow right down.

Picnic on the Ridge

Picnic on the ridge

Grab a rug and wander the paddocks to a quiet spot. Cheese, crackers, and no rush to be anywhere.

Around the farm

Feed the farm animals

Lend a hand at feeding time, or spend a quiet moment with the horses. Darcy will happily take care of any scraps.

Collecting Eggs

Collect fresh eggs

If the girls are laying, you’re welcome to collect a few eggs for breakfast. A simple farm moment, and a good excuse to slow down.

Nursery (COMING SOON)

Spend time with newborns and farm animals needing extra care. A calm, close-up look at life on the farm.

Pontoon (coming soon)

Launch a kayak, take a dip, or sit by the water. Watch the ducks drift across the dam.

The locals

They’re part of the rhythm of the farm — friendly, curious, and always somewhere nearby. They add a lot of charm (and a little chaos) to daily life here.

The Farm Dogs

Sophie and Honey are usually the first to say hello. One’s a loyal wanderer, the other a full-time cuddle enthusiast.

"Mr Darcy" the pig

A gentle giant who enjoys belly rubs, snacks, and long naps in the sun. Approach with a friendly voice — his eyesight isn’t great, but his personality is.

The chooks

Always scratching, wandering, and laying eggs where they shouldn’t. The rooster takes his morning duties seriously.

The Horses

Griffin leads the way, with Zippy not far behind. Calm, steady, and best enjoyed with a bit of space and supervision.

The Belties

Distinctive, quiet, and always grazing somewhere in the background. They’re as much a part of the landscape as the hills themselves.

Beyond the farm

The Northern Rivers offers plenty to explore — from scenic drives and bushwalks to local food, art, and small country towns.

From the Dusty Days Journal

We let our boots hit the ground and tracked down some of our favourite local spots. Feel free to follow along, add to your itinerary, or just let the road lead the way.
